Pupil premium and catch up premium

Pupil premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

At Atlantic Academy, pupil premium funding is used to ensure that we support the progress of our students in order for them to reach their potential.

If you think you may qualify for free school meals, please use the eligibility checker on the School Gateway app for Atlantic Academy, or access content relevant to your child on its website:

Covid-19 Catch up Premium

Covid-19 Catch up premium funding has been allocated to allow schools to implement supportive measures to help student catch up on missed education during the Covid-19 pandemic.

At Atlantic Academy, Covid-19 catch up funding is used to ensure that we support the engagement of students, develop well-being and pastoral systems and accelerate progress of our students in English and maths in order for them to reach their potential.

Catch up premium

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives state-funded schools, including special schools and alternative provision settings, additional funding to support Year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2.
